The Best of Dublin's (Iced) Coffee
It’s no secret that your girl is Iced coffee obsessed. So naturally, when I move to a new country I have to check out their (iced) coffee scene. Over the course of 3 months, I tried various coffee shops, cafes and restaurants in search of Dublin’s best cup of (Iced) coffee. Below is a compilation of my favorite cups of coffee + coffee spots that Dublin has to offer. Don’t just check out the irish coffee scene, go ahead and try a real irish coffee.
Bewley’s On Grafton Street:
In my opinion, this should be one of your first stops in Dublin. Not only is it a famous Irish cafe, it is also located on the famous Grafton Street. In addition, you can get a traditional Irish breakfast here AND also try a real Irish coffee. But remember, it is only legal to order alcohol in Ireland between 10.30 am and 10.00 pm on weekdays, and from 12.30 pm to 10.00 pm on Sundays.
Location: Grafton Street
Vibe: Traditional Irish Cafe and Pub; always busy
Order: Traditional Irish Breakfast, White Chocolate Raspberry Scone and a real Irish Coffee
One of the hippest, coolest spots to get your caffeine boost in Dublin. This was the first spot I tried when I went to Dublin and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere was amazing and the barista was super friendly.
Location: inside WIGWAM, located at 54 Middle Abbey St, Dublin 1
Vibe: Disco, retro and party themed; makes sense as it is located inside a bar
Order: Iced Vietnamese Coffee
CocoBrew:
Free wifi is hard to come by if you don’t go to a Starbucks, however, this spot has free wifi and the friendliest staff. They also roast their own coffee in house. Free wifi, kind people && fresh coffee? The trifecta! Look out for their Cocobrew Vintage VW Van that brings coffee straight to your event.
Location: Temple Bar; a 2 minute walk from the famous Temple Bar
Vibe: Cozy, homey and perfect central location to grab coffee with a friend before exploring the city
Order: Iced Almond Milk Latte with a delicious peanut butter muffin
What is better than a nice long stroll on the beach (even if it is winter) and ending it with an iced latte? I don’t think anything! This adorable coffee shop has delicious coffee AND sandwiches perfect for the day outing. Nice weather on a weekend? This place is slammed.
Location: Located on Bulls Island (a short bike, bus or car ride away from Dublin),
Vibe: Trendy, remote and unique spot
Order: Iced Almond Milk Latte
These Hands Coffee:
This spot captured me with their all pink coffee bar + cups and then kept me coming back with their delicious coffee. This spot opened in Dublin the same week I moved to Dublin and it is a new spot you don’t want to miss.
Location: right off St. Stephens Green
Vibe: small, sustainable with friendly staff
Order: One of my favorite Iced Latte’s in all of Ireland + a sweet cookie
A fancier spot with the best interior designer. You can’t help but walk in and feel happy. They offer food all day, but I opted to brunch here which was the best decision.
Location: Centrally located in Dublin 2 near Grafton Street, Trinity College and St. Stephens Green at 13-17 Dawson St
Vibe: Happening, fun, jazzy and eccentric hub
Order: Vanilla Shakerato, which is espresso shaken with ice + served in a martini glass but you also can’t go wrong with an Irish Coffee here.
Dublin Barista School:
I was wandering the streets of Dublin looking for a new coffee spot. After turning down a few options, this one just felt so inviting. I come to find out, much like the name states, this is a spot where aspiring Barista’s come to learn. I went here 3 different times and every time there was a line out the door. They are definitely doing something right.
Location: Located right off of Grafton Street at 19a Anne Street South, Dublin 2
Vibe: Warm, invited, cozy nook on a side street
Order: Iced Vanilla Oat Milk Latte plus their homemade peanut butter cup is to die for!
Lemon Jelly Cafe:
Why just grab coffee when you can get breakfast too!? Pair your coffee with breakfast at one of the best spots in Dublin. Their menu is huge and anything you order is a hit. Plus their menu includes crepes!!!
Location: Millenium Walkway, Dublin 1
Vibe: Buzzing, social atmosphere
Order: Iced Almond Milk Latte
The Main Stream or Chain Coffee Spots in Ireland:
Are you a Starbucks person and just can’t seem to venture out or just want to try some of Ireland’s chain coffee spots? Below are three different chain stores that are all across Ireland. I prefer Caffé Nero over Costa or Insomnia but both all are good options.
Other Non Traditional Coffee spots:
I never had a chance to make it to these spots, however they were on my list to try! Let me know if you try one of them out!
